We all want to be in shape and healthy right? I know that you said yes in your head, but lets face it we do not want to go to the gym and get on the elliptical or the dreaded treadmill. We also do not want to get out and run or at least I do not.
There are ways that we can stay in shape that are fun but also give you results. The first way is going to the exercise classes. Zumba is a great way to stay fit and it is also fun. Zumba keeps your heart rate up and also you can get some rhythm while you are at it. There is also water zumba or aqua zumba, from what I hear it is a challenge but if you are up for it go for it. Zumba can help you with toning your arms, legs, and stomach.

Another type of class that it offered is yoga. Now I know what you're thinking yoga that is boring, and guys it is not just for women. Yoga is also challenging because it test your balance and strength. This is a good alternative to lifting weights if you are trying to gain strength without looking bulky.Yoga is also a form of mention.

You may also exercise by just walking. You don’t have to walk alone take a friend with you. What my friends and I like to do is ,after eating we go to the mall or a shopping strip and walk off our meal instead of just going home and sitting down. I know that sometimes guys do not like the mall but you do not have to use the mall. Maybe go to a sports store or whatever you fancy.
Going swimming is also a good way to stay in shape, and I don’t mean just walking around the pool. When you go to the pool play games like marco polo or shark. These are fun games and will keep you moving in the pool. The pool is a great place to stay toned and get your metabolism up. The main thing is to just stay active. The more active you are the better off you will be.
I like to ride my bicycle. I actually have two: a road bike and a mountain bike. I like to take the road bike north of Jacksonville on the Chief Ladiga Trail. I like to take the mountain bike to the top of Mountain St NE. Sometimes I listen to music, and sometimes I like to hear the wind rusting the autum leaves, or the birds singing, or dogs barking as I cruise by. There are some beautiful sights to be seen when I'm taking one of my bike rides - the sunrise, a long road ahead of me, a steep mountain to climb, and more, much more. Always remember to wear a helmet when you rile your bicycle.
ReplyDeleteI have to walk at least three times a week, doctor's orders (because I have a heart condition, I have to keep my heart strong so that when it skips a beat or two, it is easier for it to start beating regularly again). At first, it was a real chore and I hated it, but after a while it became part of my weekly routine and now I miss it if I don't get to do it. I try to make it interesting by walking on a nature trail at the park near my son's school and I keep my iPhone handy so I can take pics if I see an interesting photo opp. I'd like to walk the Chief Ladiga Trail this spring or fall, if I can. JSU has a lot of beautiful places to walk, so I encourage all of you to get out and take a walk (maybe since we had Paul's wonderful apple pie last week, we should take Kourtney's advice and talk a walk as a class one week).
